Editorial Guidelines & Verification Policy
How Sduella reviews, validates, and maintains educational and career opportunities to ensure authenticity, candidate safety, and source transparency.
Effective Date: October 2026 · Reviewed Quarterly
1. Our Editorial Mission
Sduella is dedicated to democratising access to higher education funding, early-career pathways, and enterprise capital worldwide.
Our core editorial promise is simple: we provide clear, structured, and factual opportunity information that directs seekers directly to official, verified sources without charging fees or adding unnecessary friction. We believe that every student, job seeker, and small business founder deserves transparent, reliable information to make informed decisions about their future.
2. The 5-Pillar Opportunity Verification Framework
Every bursary, job listing, learnership, internship, and business grant published on Sduella undergoes a systematic verification process before appearing in our active search directory:
• Authoritative Sourcing: We source directly from official entities — accredited universities, registered employers, government departments (such as the South African Department of Higher Education and Training - DHET, and National Student Financial Aid Scheme - NSFAS), Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), and recognised international scholarship trusts.
• Fact-Checking Deadlines & Eligibility: We verify opening and closing dates, academic thresholds (minimum GPA / Matric percentage), citizenship rules, and eligible study fields against official source documents.
• Zero Application Fees Policy: Legitimate employers and bursary providers never charge applicants money. Any listing that demands an application fee, interview fee, screening fee, or uniform fee is immediately rejected.
• Direct Redirection to Source: Sduella never acts as an intermediary or application broker. Every listing includes a verified link leading directly to the provider's official portal.
• Routine Archival: Listings with expired deadlines or withdrawn notices are automatically or manually archived so users do not waste time applying for closed opportunities.
3. Scam Prevention & Candidate Safety Standards
Recruitment and scholarship fraud disproportionately harms young and vulnerable job seekers. To protect our community, Sduella enforces strict safety filters:
• Domain Verification: We inspect provider websites to ensure applications are hosted on authentic organisational domains rather than suspicious redirectors or free form builders.
• Prohibited Schemes: We do not publish multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes, pyramid models, pay-to-work arrangements, or unaccredited bogus colleges.
• Clear Disclaimers: When an opportunity carries unique work-back obligations (e.g. corporate bursaries requiring post-graduation service) or stipend terms, we highlight these conditions in the listing overview.
4. Commercial Independence & Advertising Policy
Sduella is funded through transparent online display advertising and optional organisational workspace tools:
• Strict Editorial Separation: Advertising partners and sponsors have no influence over whether an opportunity is accepted, rejected, edited, or removed.
• Clear Ad Labeling: All advertisements provided through Google AdSense or certified advertising networks are clearly designated as "Advertisement" or visually demarcated from organic content.
• No Sponsored Cloaking: We do not disguise advertisements as editorial job postings or scholarship notices.
5. Corrections, Updates & Content Removal
While our team and automated verification crawlers work continuously to maintain accurate listings, opportunity providers frequently amend dates, terms, and quotas without notice:
• Public Reporting: Users can report any expired, inaccurate, or suspicious listing by clicking "Report an Expired or Inaccurate Opportunity" on our contact page or emailing [email protected].
• Response SLA: Our safety and editorial team reviews reported listings within 24 to 48 hours and promptly updates or unpublishes affected records.
• Provider Requests: Legitimate opportunity providers wishing to correct, update, or remove a published notice can contact [email protected] with their official credentials.
6. Editorial Governance & Contact
This Editorial Policy is reviewed and updated biannually by the Sduella platform governance team in Johannesburg, South Africa.
